| I was studying ancient scrolls from the Oriental Temple and came across a curious legend. A relic called the Ruyi Scepter appeared during the Han dynasty. Its name means: "It shall be as you wish." The legend says that it was able to literally point the person to the object of their desires. Unfortunately, the Scepter is broken, but its parts are still somewhere in the Oriental Temple. 東洋の寺の古代の巻物を調べていたら、思いがけず興味深い伝説に出くわしたのよ。如意の笏(にょいのしゃく)と呼ばれる古代の歴史的遺物で、漢王朝の時代に現れたものなんですって。その名の意味は、「願いを意にままに叶える」。伝説によれば、その名の通り人の願うモノを指し示すことが出来るのだとか。残念ながら、その笏は壊れてしまっているのだけど、それのパーツはまだ東洋の寺のどこかにあるはずなの。それを組み立てるのを手伝ってくれる？ |
💬龍の杖の話とは繋がってはいませんが、力を手放したマーサがそれでもこの笏にはこだわっていたので続きに持ってきました。 relic: 歴史的に価値の高い物、大抵は発掘品や出土品を指す。 ★Ruyi scepter 如意(にょい)：中国の伝承に数多く登場する装飾の施された笏(しゃく)で力と幸運を象徴する。伝統的にはS字のカーブの持ち手に先端に霊芝(れいし)の意匠などが施されている。如意の意味はその名の通り思いのままになる。古くは紀元前200年頃の漢王朝時代の文献に如意が登場するそうな。 |
