You should hurry up and collect the gifts before they're swallowed by the City's fog. Juliette ジュリエット	モナミ、シティのギフトをこんなに沢山集めたのね！あなたが名探偵との呼び声が高いのにも頷けるわ。ねえ、ギフトを開けてみて！私、中身が何か知らないんだけど、あなたと同じくらいその中身を知りたいと思ってるの。	★sleuth スルース、 探偵、刑事：detectiveの口語でちょっと古めかしい響きがある。英語ではdetectiveもsleuthもinspectorも捜査をする人を意味し、探偵と刑事の区別なく両方を指すが、敢えて言えばdetectiveは単独で使うとアメリカの刑事っぽい。シティの刑事もDetective。はっきり区別したいときはprivate detective 私立探偵とかlaw enforcement officer 法の執行官(=官憲かんけん、お巡りさん)とか言う。捜査官はFacebookのInspector情報によれば、私立探偵らしい。でも本編ではpolice inspector 警察の捜査官と捜査手帳に出てきたから、どっちが本当かは分からないが。 💬チェストが消えちゃうのは予告(previous notice)じゃなくてお告げ(prophet)なのか(笑)

How do you live in a City where some kind of devilry is always taking place?! I started making notes on the case of Giovanni di Fiori's missing masterpiece for my sensational future article, but every morning my notebook is empty, the text just disappears! Your spiritualist told me that I must make notes with the Genius's Feather. It sounds like nonsense, but I don't see another opinion! Will you help me get this Genius's Feather?	Adeline Svensson アデライン= スヴェンソン	悪魔の所業かと思うような出来事が常に起きているようなシティで、みんなどうやって暮らしているのかしらね？！将来に向けてセンセーショナルな記事を書こうとジョバンニ=ディ=フィオーリの失われた傑作の事件を書き止め始めたのだけど、毎朝私のノートは真っ白で、書いたものが消えてしまってるのよ！あなた方の降霊術師に言われたのは天才の持つ筆記具で記録を取らなければダメだと。ナンセンスな気がするけど、他にこれといった案もないし！この天才の筆記具とやらを手に入れるのを手伝ってくれる？	💬悪気はないんでしょうけど、一言多い気がするなぁ、この人。まだシティに慣れてなければこんなものかもしれないけど、せっかくのマーサの助言にこの言い草…。むぅ。 ★featherに筆記具の意味はないが、このエピソード中では明らかに「筆記具(の素材)」の意味で使われている。(いわゆる羽根ペンはQuill)。※このエピソード中では便宜上、筆記具と訳しています。ペンの方が分かり易いけど、ペンは意外と最近の発明品なので不適かな？と。

Adeline wants to keep records about the missing Giovanni di Fiori masterpiece but the City doesn't want to share its secrets. In order for her words to not disappear, the journalist needs to write with a special Genius's Feather. However, you'll need the writing instruments of recognized geniuses to make it. Look for Khayyam's Kalam among the summer gifts.	Martha マーサ	アデラインとしてはジョバンニ=ディ=フィオーリの失われた傑作についての記録を残したいようなのだけど、シティの方にはこの秘密を皆と分かち合うつもりはないようね。あのジャーナリストが書いた文字を消えないようにするには、特別製の天才の筆記具で全てを書き取る必要があるの。とはいえ、それを作るには天才と称される者たちの筆記用具が要るわよ。まずはハイヤームの葦ペンをサマーギフトの中から探してごらんなさい。	★Omar Khayyam：ウマル・ハイヤーム。11世紀頃にペルシャで活躍した科学者、天文学者、詩人。現在の暦より正確な5000年に1日の誤差しかない超正確な歴を作った人。間違いなく天才。科学の信奉者で神の奇跡には懐疑的だったらしい。非ユークリッド幾何学の祖でもある。 ★kalam：アラビア語でspeech, word (言葉、発言など)を表す語。筆記具の方はqalamと英語表記する。意味は葦ペン。似た単語のため混同したものと思われる。
Great works came from Khayyam's Kalam, really imperishable manuscripts in human history. The Kalam will be an ideal base for Adeline's genius's Feather.		ハイヤームの葦ペンからは素晴らしい作品が生み出されたの、正に人類史に於ける不朽(ふきゅう)の名作よ。この葦ペンはアデラインの求める天才の筆記具の理想的な材料になるわ。	manuscript：手で書かれたものという意味。印刷物に対して使われる言葉。

Adeline wants to record the details of the case about di Fiori's picture, but the City is resisting! Martha will fix this by creating the Genius's Feather. Let's look among the summer gifts for Dante's beautiful feather of Venetian glass!	Juliette ジュリエット	アデラインはディ=フィオーリの絵に関する事件の詳細を記録したいのに、シティがそれを拒んでいるのね！マーサは天才の筆記具を作ることでこの問題を解決しようという訳ね。さあ、ダンテの美しいベネチアングラスで作られた筆記具をサマーギフトの中から探しましょう！	★Dante Alighieri ダンテ・アリギエーリ13世紀頃にDivina Commedia (邦題：神曲)を書いた世界的なイタリア詩人。その後のヨーロッパ文学に多大な影響を与えた人。当時としては珍しくラテン語でなく俗語で色々書いている。
Dante's books, and their morals, are relevant even today. No demons will erase the words from my notebook written with the feather of such a genius. Where are you looking for them? Among the summer gifts? Adeline is an experienced chronicler, but she doesn't have enough patience. That's why the City won't let her record the search for the painting. Look for the Calligraphy Brush among the summer gifts. It helps develop endurance. You managed to collect the writing instruments of the greatest geniuses of literature. With their help I will perform a ritual and create the Genius's Feather artifact. It will help Adeline Svensson overcome the City's resistance and finish her manuscript about the painting. Is everything ready?	Martha マーサ	文学史上最も偉大な天才たちの筆記用具をどうにか掻(か)き集めてきたのね。これがあれば呪(まじな)いを唱えて天才の筆記具を作り出せるわ。アデライン=スヴェンソンがシティの抵抗に屈せず、あの絵に関する原稿を完成させる助けになるわよ。準備は万端かしら？	💬マーサのritualは日本語の儀式のイメージよりお手軽なんで、呪(まじな)いを唱えるに変えました。もともとritualは儀式ほど重い言葉ではないはずだけどね。
By the will of the witchcraft, the writing instruments come to life and begin their dance across the paper, producing imperishable words. From these lines, the Genius's Feather is born. Adeline takes it in her hands and holds it over her notebook... The City won't erase these lines! Her manuscript will live on!		魔法の意志によってこの筆記用具たちに命が宿り、紙の上でペンが踊り始める、不滅の言葉を紡ぎながらね。この文から天才の筆記具が生まれるのよ。アデラインがそれを手に取って、ノートの上でそれをしっかり握れば…。シティにこの文章は消されないわよ！彼女の原稿は生き続けるわ！	💬おや、意外！5つを合成するかと思いきや、5つの筆記具が自動で書いた文字から天才の筆記具が生まれるとは。紙の上で色んなペンが勝手に字を書いてる様子はなんか楽しそうですね。
