NOTES FROM THE EVENING WATCH When checking on the street lamps, I heard a voice. I couldn't believe my ears - Lora, my late wife, was calling me. Fascinated, I followed the voice to the mine under the Capuchin Movie Theater, where I felt a surge of happiness. Lora went on calling for me from the Crystal Mine... Hmm, the mine doesn't look abandoned: the entrance is fortified with columns, and there are some lights flickering inside... I know that the Collector once conducted his research here, but the excavation was suddenly stopped. I didn't know the mine had been so well preserved since then.		ウーン、この鉱山は放棄されたようには見えないんだが－入り口は柱で補強されてるし、内部にはライトがいくつも点灯してるし…。かつてコレクターがここで調査を行っていたってのは分かってるんだ、つっても掘削作業は突如中断されたんだけどよ。それからずっとこんなに良好な状態で鉱山が保存されてたとは知らなかったな。	💬アッパーが出来て以来、しょっちゅうコレクターの情報が出て来るようになったなぁ…。何年も碌な情報が出てこなかったのが嘘のようだ(笑)

Be on your guard - who knows what exactly is hiding in the mine's dark caves? Some inexplicable force is calling people into the dungeons, and though it only happens at night, we need to be careful. It's not just a mine but a system of fortified caves and tunnels! It's evident that the Collector once worked here. But the dungeon we're in doesn't seem to be abandoned. There are flickering crystals, burning lamps, and some statues propping up the walls all over the place. We have to find out what kind of mysticism is going on in the abandoned mine. Ordinary citizens go down there, beckoned by a hypnotic call. Those who returned from the dungeons remember little about what happened to them, so I'll play it safe and write everything down as I go.	Vera ヴェラ	この廃坑でどういう類のオカルト現象が起きてるのかを突き止めないとな。なにしろごくごく普通の市民たちが、幻聴に誘われてはここに降りて来てるんだぜ。地下迷宮から戻った者たちは何が自分に起きたのかをほとんど覚えてないだろ、だから私は大事(だいじ)を取って事の次第(しだい)を全部書き取っておくことにするよ。	play it safe: 大事をとって、安全策を取って as I go: 進捗に従って、事の次第(しだい)に沿って ※goが指すのはこれからしようとする事全部。そう言う意味ではas I do, whatever I do でも同じだが、goは作業を進める感がある。口語でよく使う表現 💬ライターが変わったのか、最近英文の口調がかなり自然になった感じがするなぁ。ごく初期の英文はかなりイギリス英語寄りで、途中から外国語を英語に翻訳したみたいな教科書英語になって、ここ半年くらいはもう少し自然な英語に落ち着いた感じ。それでも特殊な言い回しやスラングがほぼないから、多言語にかなり配慮してるんだろうね。

Something strange has started happening in the long-abandoned Crystal Mine of the Collector. At night, citizens descend there, following a hypnotic call. Upon their return, people remember almost nothing and feel weakened. We have to figure out what's happening underground and learn what secrets are hidden in the mine's dark depths.	Introduction 序文	長きに渡り人の寄り付かなかったコレクターのクリスタル鉱山で、不可解な事が起き始めている。夜、街の人々が幻聴につられてそこに降りて行くのだ。戻った者たちはほとんど何も覚えておらず、脱力感を覚えている。我々は地下で何が起きているのかを解明し、鉱山の昏(くら)き深遠にどんな秘密が隠されているのかを突き止めなければならない。

The Collector's Crystal Mine turned out to be not so abandoned: someone has obviously resumed work here. What kind of power has settled here and is luring the citizens? Is it an unexplained phenomenon or a villainous dark deed? Can we pinpoint the source of the beckoning voice? Goal: Find out what is luring people. Does this chimera statue look suspicious to you too? Aha, that's it. A mechanism is hidden behind the statue, which was supposed to be activated by strangers and would then block the entrance. But judging by this malfunction, someone damaged it. What is the nature of the hypnotic voice that is luring citizens here? The mine's security system is broken, and I can't help feeling that we're being watched. Look, something flashed in the darkness, someone's shining eyes... Or was it a glint of some stone? Let's check. So I didn't see shining eye but the sparkle of this stone, clamped in an iron paw. Take a closer look: there's some kind of lens built into the gem. Its facets are cleverly disguising it, but it's there. I think it's a tracking device. While exploring this place, I heard a ringing sound in one of the mines - as if someone was hammering an anvil. I followed the sound and saw a miner's ghost. He wasn't hostile. The miner told me to find an anvil and disappeared. Mysterious! But if you find an anvil, call me. As soon as I took this dream catcher, terrible images began to flash before my eyes: dark figures standing in a circle against the wall, praising someone... And then the item burned me, so I had to drop it. Having searched the area around the altar with the mineral again, I found out some mysterious fragments, but not of natural origin. Together they were part of something that surrounded the mineral. Lend me your tools. I'll examine one of the fragments. I examined the fragment and studied the other pieces we found. All of them formed a kind of protective seal around the mineral, which neutralized the stone's negative influence. I think it was made by the Collector. But now the seal is broken. Is this the work of the Shadow Cult?		破片を一つ詳しく調べた上で、みんなで見付けた他の欠片も確かめてみたらな。あれは全部である種の封印みたいなモノを形成してて、鉱石の周辺に配置されてたんだよ、そうしてあの石の負の力を無力化してたのさ。私は、これを作ったのはコレクターなんじゃないかと睨(にら)んでるんだ。だが封印は壊されてた。これもシャドウ教団の仕業なのか？

DAY 61 OF EXCAVATION I was so wrong. The mineral doesn't make anyone happy! It gets worse every day: the stone continues to drive my expedition crew crazy. I'm on the brink myself... Also, the Shadow disciples have learned about the mineral's dark properties, and want it. But I was able to develop a seal that neutralized the mineral. Now I'll close the mine forever! The mineral lit up as soon as you brought the figurine with memories to it, and then immediately went out. The figurine's color has become a little lighter, which means the mineral has only absorbed some of the memories. Why not all of them?
