アルタジマス(経緯儀)：高度(altitude アルティテュード)と方位(azimuth アジマス)によって天球上の位置を計測する装置。なお経緯は経=横、緯=縦という意味。挿絵の経緯儀のモデルは清代に北京にあった天文台で作られたもので、実際にはazimuth方位のみを測る計測器。つまり本当は経儀(けいぎ)であって高さは測れない。Wikipediaの写真をよーく拡大すると実は真ん中の縦の棒には細い隙間があって、そこから星を覗くようになっている。 💬挿絵を見てこれでどうやって高さを測るんだよと思った人は正しいのだが、英語ではaltazimuthとして紹介されてしまっているので高度も測れると思っても致し方ないかもなぁ。シティでは不思議な力が働いて高度も測れるんだ、きっと！ |
