モウセンゴケ：ねばねばで虫を捉えて食べる食虫植物。英名はねばねばが朝露のようで綺麗だから。日本語は赤いねばねばを毛氈(もうせん)に見立てている。毛氈とはお茶屋さんの椅子とかに掛かっているフェルト状の赤い布のこと。ちなみに和名はモウセンゴケと言っているが、普通に花と種のある植物で、苔類ではない。 so-called: 人呼んで ※いわゆるという意味でよく使うが、ここではバレリーが勝手に名付けた名前のと言う意味 💬本来はモウセンゴケと訳すべきなんでしょうが、美しい花を並べているので、sundewの直訳である朝露と訳しました。ここでモウセンゴケが出て来ると雰囲気が台無しなので…。 |
