Pirate Treasure The pirates' legend is true! Yes indeed, a real pirate ship once came to the City of Shadows! I've found proof. And not just one piece of proof - I'm talking about heaps of gold doubloon, precious gems and artifacts. Shiver me timbers - there's pirate treasure hidden here in the underground catacombs! I can't wait to see the look on the faces of the whiny Mayor and all the other people when they see the riches hidden by those scurvy sea dogs. They all thought I was crazy! I'm going to head down and search for the pirate treasure tomorrow. May 12, 1876.		海賊の財宝 海賊の伝説は本当だったぜ！ああやっぱりだ、本物の海賊船が以前シャドウ=シティに来てたってこった！証拠を見付けたぞ。それも証拠のひと欠片なんてケチな話じゃあねえ－俺が言ってんのは、スペインの旧金貨に宝石、それにアーティファクトの山の事さ。ちくしょうめ－海賊の財宝は地下のカタコンベの中に隠されてやがる！貪欲な海の男どものお宝を見て、ぴーぴーと泣き言をほざく市長や他の奴らの面(つら)を拝むのが待ちきれないぜ。奴等みんな俺様をキチガイだと思ってやがったんだからな！俺は明日には地下に潜って海賊の財宝を探しに行くぞ。 1876年5月12日	★doubloon ダブルーン：スペインの旧金貨。海賊モノのお話に付き物の金貨。 ★Shiver me timbers: 海賊用語として浸透しているフレーズで、ちくしょうめくらいの意味。直訳は「骨まで震えるぜ」みたいな感じなんだが、timbersが何を指すのかは諸説あって海賊船の骨組みなんだとか、肋骨なんだとか、そのまんま丸太なんだとか…。 ★catacombs カタコンベ: 地下墓地、というかただひたすら頭蓋骨を積み上げただけのシロモノ。誰の骨だかの区別もなくただひたすら積まれているようなヤツ。パリの地下にあるヤツが有名。シティの地下迷宮はおそらくパリの地下がモデル。the Sewer(地下水道、下水)が網目の様に広がり、カタコンベがあり…。 whiny: ぴーぴー泣き言をいう riches: お宝、財宝 ※この意味の時だけ名詞、常に複数 scurvy: あさましい、下衆な ※元の意味は壊血病で大航海時代の船乗りには付き物の病気(ビタミンC不足によるもの) sea dog: 経験を積んだ船乗り

I get the feeling we're in for an exciting adventure. Just imagine, there's real pirate treasure hidden in the City of Shadows! I'll show you where to find the parts of the mirror key for the door that leads to the pirate treasure, and in return I want to be the first person to enter the cave that contains the treasure. You know what worries me the most? The first part of the old pirate's story turned out to be true... pirate treasure really has been hidden in the City for many years. Could the second part also be true? If pirates have been to the City of Shadows, could they come back? Explore the pirate treasure. We need more information. This priceless amulet is a valuable find. Have you noticed the walls of the cave? And underneath there's something like an altar with recesses and a faded note. The Pirates' Riddle There's a riddle written on the wall of the treasure. My gut tells me the pirates must have left a secret path to their treasure, glory and... freedom! 《The Pirates' Riddel》	Case №76	《海賊の謎かけ》
A mysterious message thrown from the sea in the mirror led to the discovery of a pirate treasure that has been buried underground for hundreds of years. It's hard to believe, but at some point a real pirate ship came to the City of Shadows! The pirates left a riddle on a wall promising glory and riches to whoever can solve it. But could it be some kind of trap? Solve the mysteries the pirates left behind and get special rewards. An inscription on the wall of the treasure reads, "The guiding star will open the path to untold treasure and glory to the conqueror of the five oceans." It's obviously connected to the altar. The note contains drawings of figurines from various parts of the world that we need to place on the altar. Goal: Find the figurines for the altar.	Chapter1 第一章	財宝の壁の上には記述があった、「導きの星が、五つの海を制する者の莫大な財宝と栄光への道を開く」。これは明らかに祭壇と関係している。手紙には世界の様々な場所から集められた小像の絵が含まれていた、祭壇の上に置くべきはその小像だ。 ゴール：祭壇に置く小像を探せ。

Ha ha, pirate mysteries - I love it! I'm certain this cave is just a small part of the pirate treasure! If we follow the hints we can definitely find even more valuable treasure and obtain endless renown... What did the pirate note say? The guiding star will show the way to the conqueror of the five seas. Of course! We need to put figurines from various parts of the world on the altar! Let's find them! There are hints in the note. A diagram of figurines symbolising different parts of the world. The first one from Asia looks like a netsuke. I'd bet my top hat on it. So, shall we look for a Japanese idol? I was right! The first figurine is a Japanese idol! We're getting a pretty decent team together.		俺の言った通りだっただろ！最初の小像は日本の偶像だ！俺たちはかなりしっかりしたチームになって来たじゃないか。

Hmm... The second figurine is clearly from Africa. I'm certain we need to find a figurine made of ebony wood. Something black as night. The carver's skill isn't especially impressive, but the material itself... an African idol made of ebony wood. Any way you slice it, it's a valuable trophy.		彫り師の腕は特にコレと言って目を引くほどじゃあないが、材質そのものは…黒檀製のアフリカの偶像だな。ま、薄く削って貰っとけよ、価値ある勲章になるぜ。	★Dark continent 暗黒大陸：アフリカ大陸の昔の俗称。地中海沿岸以外がヨーロッパにとって白地図だった時代の名残。

I don't understand what the third symbol means. But in terms of style it looks Mayan. That must mean we need to find a trophy from America. This Mayan figurine is a symbol of the New World. Pirates were constantly looking for new lands, new adventures, treasure and glory.		こういうマヤの小像ってのは新世界アメリカ大陸の象徴なんだ。海賊たちは常に新しい土地、新しい冒険、財宝に栄光を探し求めてたのさ。	★New world 新世界：大航海時代におけるアメリカ大陸の事。ヨーロッパから見て新しい大陸だったため。暗黒大陸同様、かなり古い表現。

Hmm... Instead of the fourth figurine I see an image of an anise tree. We need to find a trophy from the land of spices. The first thing that comes to mind is Ganesha, the Indian elephant god.	Cardsharp カードシャープ	フーム…。四番目の小像の代わりに目に入るのは、アニスの小木の絵だな。見付けなきゃならんのは、スパイスの地からの戦利品って事か。最初に頭に浮かんだのはガネーシャだな、インドの象の神様だよ。	★anise アニス：香辛料の一種で八角と似たような匂いがする。お菓子や各種料理、消臭剤や薬にも使われる。カードシャープはanise treeと言っているが、草木系で50cmほどにしかならない。
Ganesha is the god of wisdom and prosperity. But I think the pirates were more interested in his golden decorations than Hindu symbolism.		ガネーシャは智慧と繁栄の神なのさ。だが俺が思うに、この海賊が興味を持ったのは、ヒンドゥー教を象徴するモノとしてというより、頭の上の金の飾りじゃないかね。	★Ganesha ガネーシャ：太鼓腹の人の体に象の頭を持つヒンドゥー教の神様。現世利益で富を約束してくれる、カードシャープがとても好きそうな一柱。

The last figurine has horns... The Vikings used to wear horned helmets. They're the only ones I can think of. That probably means we should look for a Scandinavian divinity.	Cardsharp カードシャープ	最後の小像には角があるな…。ヴァイキングは角のある兜を被っていたんだ。俺が思いついたのはそれだけだな。これが意味する所はスカンジナビアの神様かなんかを探せって事だろ、きっと。	divinity: 神格を持つもの
The Scandinavian god, harsh and manly. He's all we were missing for a full set.		スカンジナビアの神か、荒々しく男らしいな。この神こそがフルセットに欠けてたのさ。

We have all the figurines. We're just a step away from riches and glory, but... it's as though some unknown force is preventing me from putting them in place! Apparently we also have to activate a few magical artifacts to get past it. Bring them at once and put these figurines on the altar at last. I'd do it, but my hands are shaking from excitement and impatience! All the figurines are in place. Some parts of the altar started moving to reveal a hidden compartment. This funny thing was inside. Is that all? What about the path to glory and riches we were promised? Apparently we missed something! Think! The solution is nearby...		全ての小像はあるべき場所に収まったな。祭壇が数か所動き始めて、隠されたコンパートメントが現れたぞ。こんなヘンテコな物が中にあった。これだけだと？約束されていた栄光と富への路はどうした？明らかに何か見落としたんだ！考えろ！解決策は直ぐ近くにあるはずだ…。
I've been thinking about the hint on the treasure cave's wall for a long time. "The guiding star will show the way to the conqueror of the five sees." I think I know why you couldn't get the altar to work. We don't just need things from distant lands in the five sees. The pirates' secret will be revealed to whoever has conquered great distances in reality. Ask the residents of the City. I'm sure there are some experienced travellers among them. But be extremely careful,,, I still sense a trap in all these riddles...	Mayor 市長	私は財宝の洞窟の壁に書かれていたヒントについて長い間考えていたのだがね。「導きの星が五つの海を制する者へと道を示す」と。何故、祭壇を動かす事が出来なかったのか、私には分かると思う。必要なのは、五つの海を隔てた土地からのモノだけではないのだ。海賊の秘密は実際に偉大なる距離を制した者に明かされるという事なのだろう。シティの住民たちに聞いてみたまえ。その中には旅行の経験者もいるはずだ。だがとにかく気をつけたまえよ…。私は未だにあの謎かけ全体が何かの罠だと感じるのだ…。

Yup, that's the one. The postcard from Crete. Greece is a great place to take a vacation. The booze there is amazing! What if the old pirate knew about who - or whatever it is that's able to reach the City? We need to find the old pirate's other notes right away.
