appear from dark corners and crawl on the walls, plunging the location
into deep darkness. Black tentacles stretch toward the victims and
horrifying whispers drive them mad. |

Valerie. Now I know what we encountered. This anomaly is known as
Sinister Shadows. It's a bit like Night Terrors, but even more
dangerous. However, the way to deal with it was found long ago as it
causes much trouble to treasure hunters. You can banish it using the
Rune of Silence but Martha doesn't have it. You might find it in the
Manor House but the Mistress is unlikely to part with it willingly, so
you'd better sneak in at night. |

tragic story, but the Shadows must have appeared with the ink. If only

〇〇と付けると、「○○なるもの誰それ」みたいないわゆる「二つ名」になる。ちょっとカッコイイ。因みにFlintはフリント銃(火打石で火を点けるタイプの旧式の銃)の事なので「クラーケン殺しのフリント銃」という渾名だったのかもしれない。

| Sinister
Shadows are a real curse of City treasure hunters. Almost every antique
dealer and collector of rarities has encountered this phenomenon at
least once. Anyone within range of this anomaly is paralyzed with
baseless terror. Time passes faster and the victim of the Sinister
Shadows is rapidly drained of energy... Rumor is, the black silhouettes,
which gave the anomaly its name, are people who were unable to overcome
the boundary between the real world and the City and remain forever
restless - evil ghosts. Unfortunately, this idea cannot be verified. To
summon the Sinister Shadows to a location, you need to spill some
octopus ink. Use the Rune of Silence to banish it. |
