Although the place doesn't look sinister, the townspeople did get stuck in the corn maze and for some reason aren't responding to our calls. I suspect it might be a kidnapping, so I'm conducting a journalistic investigation. I'm looking for clues, and you're quite observant - join in. Did you see anything suspicious? I found lots of autumn decorations, fruits and vegetables, but there's no indication that the disappearance was set-up. But I find it hard to believe that the townspeople simply got lost in the maze. I must be missing something, so I'll need to check again. On Thanksgiving Eve, a corn maze emerged from the fog. It appeared next to a merry harvest festival, as if another entertainment for the holiday, and the townspeople decided to compete to see who would beat the maze first. But even after many hours, none of them came back and would respond. What's going on in the maze that looked so harmless?	Introduction 序文	感謝祭の晩、トウモロコシ迷路が霧から突如現れた。祭日のための新たな余興の如く、陽気な感謝祭の催しの隣に出現したものだから、街の人々は誰が迷路を最初に踏破するか競争する事にしたのだった。しかし何時間経ってもただの一人も帰らず音沙汰もない。この一見無害そうな迷路で一体何が起きているのだろうか？	compete to see who~: 誰が~かを競争して確かめる ※compete whoとは言わない事に注意。competeは自動詞なのでwh節を目的語に取れない。そのため副詞節でto see whoをくっつけて、誰が~かを確認するために競争するという言い方をする

People look at me askance, as if I lured them there with malicious intent, but I'm sure we'll soon find everyone missing by their tracks. I'm no tracker, but I found the townspeople's tracks in the maze quite easily - there are footprints on the loose dirt. Quick, now we'll catch up with them in no time! Hmm, the footprints suddenly break off. We'll have to look for other traces - broken stems, branches. See if there are any nearby. You found a broken branch, which is a lead too. It looks a lot like the key that Valerie wears around her neck. It even has her ferret's teeth marks on it. Wait, why is there a branch in the corn maze of all places? There are more and more questions. It looks like the townspeople were busy making crafts from natural materials in the maze, so it's clear why they took so long. But there isn't such a contest in the holiday program, which makes the activity even more strange. I picked up a piece that looks like a weapon. Here, take a look. This shuriken is strange, I agree. But the Huntress once drove a gargoyle away from me with one just like it, only made of metal. She said she'd perfected the blades to fight monsters. We haven't found any of the townspeople who got lost in the corn maze yet. Their footprints break off, and I can't figure out the direction they went in. But I found some berries among the corn. Amazing! I wanted to collect them, but they were stuck on a chain. Take a look. You're right, the chain looks exactly like one of Cardsharp's lucky charms. Only there should be card suits on it, not wild berries. The Accessory doesn't look like a simple craft - it could be enchanted. I used this bow and arrow to hunt wild turkeys. I always carry weapons, but they are only effective against monsters, not ordinary animals.
