Even though you can't see anyone, shadows of strange customers are moving there. Sometimes claps of cards on a deck, clinking of glasses and muttering voices can be heard in the silence. The mystical card tournament and the gathering of the most famous individuals of all times still goes on! Collect all parts of the mirror key to gain access to the Red Rose Cafe. Greetings! No, we haven't met before, you'd remember me. I'm the Cardsharp. I'm here and there... and nowhere. Most of time you can find me outside this café. Why? It's a long story. Before I arrived in the City, I spent many years assembling a special card deck that would allow me to take part in the Tournament. Then I lost it and the cards are now scattered all over the City. They are a part of me and I'm eager to find them.	Cardsharp カードシャープ	ごきげんよう！いいや、まだお会いしたことはない、が、覚えて頂けると思ってるよ。俺様はカードシャープ。ここにもいる、あちらにもいる…かと思えばどこにもいない、それが俺さ。お前さんが俺を見つけるのは大抵このカフェの外のはずだ。何故だと思うかね？長い話になるんだ。俺はこのシティに辿り着く前、特別なカードデッキを揃えるのに何年もかけたんだ。それがあれば、かのトーナメントにも参加出来ようってほどの代物さ。ところが俺はそれを失くしてしまってね、そのカードは今シティのあちらこちらにばら撒かれてしまったんだ。あれは俺の一部とも言うべきものだ、だからどうしても見付けたくってな。	★Cardsharp カードシャープ : ポーカーなどのカードゲームにおいてあらゆる手を使って勝てる技能を持つ者のこと。ギャンブルのエキスパートなどを指し、必ずしも軽蔑的な呼称ではない。また、エンターテイナーとしての側面も持ち、カジノや遊技場でマジックを披露するなどもしていたらしい。 ★the Tournament = the mystical card tournament 「神秘のカードトーナメント」とかいうトーナメントの事らしい。この話以外でも、カードシャープがやたらと出場に熱意を燃やしている。

The magical cards, that Cardsharp has been collecting for many years, have mysteriously disappeared. Sly and crafty hearts, stern and taciturn clubs, obedient diamonds and grim spades - all of them are now scattered throughout the City, and Cardsharp is dead set on finding them. After all, it's impossible to win the magical Millennium Tournament without a magical deck. Help Cardsharp return his lost deck and he will generously reward you.	Introduction 序文	魔法のカード、それはカードシャープが長年に渡って集めてきたものだ、それが謎をいっぱいに抱えて消え失せた。ずる賢くて抜け目のないハート、厳格で無口なクラブ、従順なダイヤ、それに冷酷なスペード－その全てが今やシティ中にばら撒かれてしまっているのだ、そしてカードシャープはそれを断固として見付けようとしている。何といっても、魔法のデッキ無くしては魔法のミレニアム･トーナメントで勝ち上がる事は不可能なのだから。カードシャープに失われたデッキを取り戻させてやれ、さすれば彼は気前よく報酬をくれる事だろう。

Cardsharp カードシャープ	６、８、９、１０…。まるでシティ自身が俺の所にお前を遣わしてくれたように思えるよ。後は大きいハートのカードだけだ！そいつはカフェで見つからなかったんだな？ムムム…コレクターの野郎どこに隠しやがったんだ？	(下段) When I first arrived here, I looked for~: 最初に流れ着いた時、～を探していた。要するに、探している最中流れ着いた。 💬え？カードシャープってトーナメントの開催地を探しててシティに行きついたの？そりゃあ、固執するわけだ bastard: 俗語でひでえ野郎。元の意味は妾腹(めかけばら)。 unfair: 不当な。日本語のアンフェアより意味が強く、違法なという響きがある。 be willing to~: やりたくはないが言われればやる 💬こういう言い方をするって事は、結局イカサマはしたんじゃないのか？怪しいなぁ…。まあでも、ポーカーってそもそも騙し合いだもんね。
It's all the Collector's fault. When I first arrived here, I looked for the venue of an important Card Tournament. The Collector had an amulet that helped me search. I offered to play for it and won, but that bastard thought I cheated! What an unfair accusation! I'm the embodiment of honesty, from the toes of my polished shoes to the top of my hat! Well, when I'm not willing to cheat... The Collector snatched my deck and kicked me out. Later I discovered he'd scattered the cards across the City in a fit of rage. My lovely cards could be anywhere!		それもこれも全部あのコレクターのせいだ。俺はとある重要なカード･トーナメントが開かれている場所を探してて、ここに流れ着いたのさ。コレクターはそれを探し出せるアミュレットを持っていてな。俺はそいつを賭けて一勝負しようと申し出て勝ったんだが、あんのくそ野郎、俺がインチキをしたとぬかしやがった！なんと不当な言いがかりか！俺は誠実さを体現したような男だぞ、この磨かれた靴の先から帽子の天辺に至るまでな！やれやれ、俺とて率先してイカサマをしたいだなどと思ってはいないのに…。コレクターは俺のデッキをひったくって俺を追い出しやがったんだ。気付いた時には、奴がカッとなってそのカードをシティ中にばら撒いてしまった後だったという訳さ。俺様の愛(いと)しのカードはどこへ行ったやらだ！

I spoke to the cards you found. The lower Hearts told me their higher brothers and sisters were near a gilded gate - the Manor House Gate. How can Cards talk? Not with words but the combinations when they're spread. This Deck... I can use it to play the whole City. I'll tell you later what it means and let you learn wonderful things. But now, please, look for the remaining cards by the Gate. I repeat, I used to play against the whole City. No, I'm not crazy. Of course, it was like I played against myself and the City replied via the card combinations. Then I noticed something amazing: depending on different combinations, things changed in the City. After each deal, the fog left items in the streets. Sometimes, unbelievably, the cards made the street layouts change. Buildings appeared and disappeared. Do you now understand what I lost, thanks to the Collector? It's why I need you to bring the cards in separate suits - I'm afraid they could inadvertently change the face of the city.	Cardsharp カードシャープ	もう一度言おう、シティそのものを相手に勝負をしてたのさ。いいや、俺は正気だぜ。傍から見れば、俺が一人でカードを切っている様に見えてたろうさ、そしてシティはカードのコンビネーションを介して答えて来た。そこで俺様は驚きの事実に気づいたのさ、異なるカードの組み合わせに応じて、シティで何かが変わるんだ。一回並べるごとに、霧が街にアイテムを運んで来た。信じられんことにだ、このカードは町並みを変えちまった事まであったんだぜ。建物が現れ、消え失せたんだ。これでお前にも俺が何を失くしたのか理解できたか？あのコレクターのお蔭でな。スートを分けてカードを持って来るように言うのもそれが理由だ－不用意にシティの外観を変えんとも限らんからな。	Of course: 見たまんま、見たところ。ここでは一見したところという意味 inadvertently: 不注意に、ついうっかり 💬なるほど、デイリーの三つの宝物の時にカードシャープが出てくるのはそういう訳なんですね？毎日０時にカードを切ってるのか？更には、シティの街並みが変わる時、カードシャープがどこかでカードを並べてるんでしょうか？数あるアーティファクトの中で、実はこのデッキが最強な気がします。但し、望んだ結果になるのかが読めなさそうですが…。パルプンテみたいだな。

Sly hearts are found, next are clubs. Cardsharp heard their calls near the crashed plane. Maybe they were destroyed? Goal:  Find stern Club cards.	Chapter2 第二章	狡猾なハートは見つかった、次はクラブだ。カードシャープは墜落した飛行機の近くで彼らの呼び声を聞いたらしい。カードは無事だろうか？ Goal:  厳めしいクラブのカードを探せ。
[Severe Clubs] Clubs - Explore the Crash Site.		［手厳しいクラブ］ クラブ－墜落現場を探索せよ。
Clubs are next. When that plane crashed into the Station I felt a burst of magical energy - my cards calling. They must have been hidden nearby and the accident woke them. Magic cards can't be damaged by fire, but I'm still worried about my Club Suit. Please find it quickly!	Cardsharp カードシャープ	次はクラブだな。あの飛行機が駅に墜落した時、魔法のエネルギーが弾けるのを感じたんだ－俺のカードが呼んでるとな。あいつらはきっと近くに隠されてて、あの事故であいつらが目を覚ましたんだ。魔法のカードは火ではダメージを受けたりはしないが、それでも俺のクラブが心配だ。頼む急いで見付けてくれ！	★今は運河の中にあるCrash Siteですが、最初は駅の脇腹、市役所の前に落ちていました。駅の中腹にどでかい穴が開いているのがその跡です。Bold Infiltration のイベント時に現在の場所に移動になりました。狼男たちが引きずって行ったんだそうです。

So severe and so silent... Clubs are true warriors that will fight for their general to the bitter end. A flush of clubs means a long and bitter struggle with the enemy.		あくまで厳めしく、あくまで無口…。クラブは真の戦士、自らの司令官のため最後の最後まで戦い抜くのさ。クラブのフラッシュは敵との長く辛い闘争を意味するんだ。	★flush フラッシュ: ひとつのスートだけを５枚集める手。結構強い。 fight to the bitter end: 悲痛な最後を迎えるまで戦い抜く。死ぬまで戦うの婉曲表現。

I spread a few combinations and the cards confirmed my guess: the Top Clubs are near where the lower ones were. You claim they aren't there? But they could be nearby, at the Station, say. When I have two suits, I again feel the secret connections between the cards. When I lost the deck I lost a part of my soul... The Diamonds are in the Manor Gate area. They are very amenable.	Cardsharp カードシャープ	二つのスートを手に入れたからには、カード同士の密かな繋がりがまた感じられるぞ。このデッキを失った時、俺は自分の魂の一部をも失ったのさ…。ダイヤは領主館の門にいる。あいつらは物凄い分かりやすいからな。	amenable: 提案などに対する反応が分かりやすい、素直な。

The Spade is the queen of the Deck. A cold mistress, who subdues the rest. But even this suit is represented by five cards that make up the Black Straight.		スペードはデッキの女王なんだ。冷徹な女主人さ、残り全てを従える、な。もっと言えば、こいつらは最強の手である黒のストレートを構成する５枚のカードに使われるスートでもあるのさ。	but even~: このbutは逆説ではなく強調。前節の話を強調している。 ★Black Straight: 黒のストレート。暗にスペードのRoyal Flush の事を指している。つまり最強の手。日本語での呼び名はロイヤルストレートフラッシュ。

All that are left are spades. Spades are nocturnal cards, and won't come out so easily. Are they really hidden better than the others? Goal:  Collect Spades cards	Chapter4 第四章	残すところは後、スペードのみになった。スペードは夜の性質を持つカードだ、つまりそう簡単には出てこないだろう。他のカードより巧妙に隠されているのだろうか？ Goal:  スペードのカードを集めろ。

We must place the cards in a special box that will protect them from the City and the City from them. But back to the point: spades are a nocturnal suit, so you have a greater chance to find it by moonlight. We should look for it at night. Some of the Black Straight cards must be in the hands of City residents. Each of us is endowed with some magical ability, even that simpleton, Valerie.
